Why Professional Bloggers Choose Wordpress

October 10th, 2009

Like most other blogging platforms, Wordpress is free. It’s common for blogging platforms to let their users host images, but Wordpress offers another another benefit in that as well as hosting images, you can also host a variety of files including PDFs, Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.

What Do You Blog About? Then You Need Blogging Guides To Be More Creative

August 24th, 2009

There are literally millions of blogs on the net. Most people who start blogging do so for the sheer pleasure of the activity. You write about what you know. All of a sudden, you’re receiving responses from people all over the world. These responses naturally fuel your enthusiasm. You write more. More people jump in to have their say. Before you know it, you’ve got a sizeable amount of traffic.

However, as you spend more time writing your blog and subscribing to server space, you realize that it’s taking up too much of your time without generating income. Well, you don’t have to worry about that since there is a way for you to make money out of your blog. You can generate income from what you write every day. There are several ways that you can do this.

You need to acquaint yourself with the world of net marketing, if you want to make a profit. After all, people are interested in what you have to say. Maybe now’s the time to consider the leap to your own online business. With good management strategies, you could quit your ‘day job’ and do just fine!

Let’s say you’ve got a successful blog going, with a loyal and growing readership. Do you have any ads running? Do you provide leads to your readers which enrich their knowledge? Do you have streaming audio and video? Any RSS feeds? If not, it may be about time you got more sophisticated. How do you learn how to integrate all of these features and start realizing an income? This is where blogging guides become valuable.

Blogging guides do not generally teach you how to write. You’ve got that down. What blogging guides do teach you is how to market your blog. While you may have an indestructible rapport with your readers, that won’t make you any money. You need targeted ads for products and services your readers are looking for, to enhance their knowledge or skill sets.

Let’s say, you’re writing about greenhouse gardening. Most of your readers would want further information about how to build and maintain them. They would want books that teach them more information or a company where they can order materials from. Just about any further information would be appreciated by your readers.

You know how to find what your readers want. You need to know how to form affiliate agreements, whereby your link to greenhouse garden products results in a commission for you, when your reader clicks through and buys that product.

If you’re not currently integrating relevant graphics, submitting to directories and social networking sites, you’re missing out on lots of traffic. If you’re not conversant in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), you need to get on the ball!

There are free blogging tutorials to get you started. Once you’ve got a handle on how to make money, invest in a good blogging guide. You’ll make money!

The Time To Have Blogging Advice For An Improvement

August 22nd, 2009

When I decided to start a blog last year, I didn’t really think that it would be much of a big deal. I knew a lot of casual bloggers out there, and none of them seemed to put much thought into it. They certainly didn’t get blogging advice anywhere. They just wrote down what they wanted to, whether it was relationship blogs, marketing and advertising reports, or just personal information about their day-to-day lives.

Some of them were professional bloggers while others were more casual in their occupation. All of them, however, seemed to take a pretty laid-back approach to putting their columns together.

Thinking back, it seems that blogging advice would’ve been helpful when I started. Blogging isn’t exactly as easy as it sounds. There are several things you need to deal with when you’re starting out.

First of all, you have to deal with layout issues. One of the hard facts about Internet blogging is that people are not going to read your blog unless you make it interesting looking. A webpage that looks completely dull and has bad layout is going to make eyes glaze over no matter what you have to say.

Having sites that are unappealing will make your readers lose interest before they even start clicking or reading anything. Of course, some sites have simple layouts and still gain a steady following. However, even with these weblogs, the people who made them took some time to think about the design of the site.

Another area I could have used blogging advice on was getting hits. My personal blog was also part of my business. I was sort of combining multiple features into it. On the one hand, I wanted a blog that I could use as a semi public journal. I could use it to inform my friends about what I was up to in my life.

Getting helpful advice about blogging at this point would have been extremely useful. It would have helped me create a web layout that was interesting to my readers, both friends and clients at the same time, and one that would entice new readers from Google searches.

Even without looking at a blogging guide, I did manage to figure it out eventually. It was slow going, and I think I wasted some time that would have been better spent on something else. Nonetheless, live and learn as they say. Next time, I will start with expert advice!

Making a Profit by Blogging

August 15th, 2009

When you have browsed the internet, you have probably come across a blog or two. Blogs are online journals that people express their feelings on. They represent personal opinions of authors about certain topics. Blogs allows people to share their ideas and interest with other people around the globe.

Blogs have become popular for a number of reasons. First, they are search engine friendly. As long as you are making posts regularly, search engines spider them and index them often. Search engines love blogs because they are regularly updated, and because of their fresh content. Second, blogging is the fastest way to build your website. Using blogs can be easier for you than making a website. You don’t need to create websites or any programming language. And third, blogging helps increase your marketing reach.

You can always try blogs even if you aren’t much of a writer. When your blogging becomes consistent you will soon see why it is important for internet marketers. Setting up a blog does not mean you’ll have a 100% boost in your income. A blog won’t give you any new ways to make money except with the following ways:

1. Selling advertising space. Selling text links or banners on you blog can help make you money. If your blog has a high page rank then this strategy might work for you.

2. Offer affiliate ads. Just like a website, you can also offer visitors links or banners to your affiliate products or services.

3. Having Adsense ads or any other ads on your blog is the easiest way to gain a profit through blogging. When other people click on these ads, you make money.

Keep in mind that your competitors are probably using blogs so you must use one as well. If your competitors are blogging, then they are reaching customers easily and effectively. When you have a blog you can publish information about your business quickly while keeping pace with the growth in the market.

Simply put, blogs are useful social and communication tools. The market is now smarter and more organized. People would love to talk to you and would want to help in the development of your products. Blogs can permit this because readers can submit their comments to the author’s post.

Blogs will be around for a long time, so it would be wise to start blogging now.

Guideline to Drive Traffic with Internet Marketing Business

August 1st, 2009

You basically need to know how to build a squeeze page and the methods of getting traffic if you are into the internet marketing business. Most website owners are having a difficulty gaining and maintaining their traffic, and if you’re one of them, it’s time to pay attention to the tips below, find out which one works best for you, and start earning megabucks from your increased traffic.

One way to increase traffic for your internet marketing business is writing a rich and relevant content. Article marketing is a form of link building that has grown popular to grab more traffic. All you have to do is to first find out which keywords are very popular, write articles about it and optimize your site through SEO or search engine optimization. The search engines of Google and Yahoo are often used by those who browse the internet and when they search using the keywords that you use, there is a big chance for your website to among the listed sites in the search engine results page, and may be clicked on by those interested in your products. Keep in mind to use only the right keywords and to continuously write articles for your keywords.

What to Avoid When Writing Articles

When writing keyword-rich articles, remember not to overdo it. Most internet marketing business owners often make the mistake of writing the keywords in almost every line of every sentence of their article in the hopes of getting a higher page rank from search engines. Search engines actually put a limit on the number of keywords that they allow for every article and if you overdo it, you may be punished and deleted from the rankings.

So, what can you do then? You may use your Meta tags and write your keywords and optimize your description. There are several webbots that use the first 200 characters of your page’s body as a description. The search engine results page only displays this description to give an idea to the person doing the search as to what can be found in your site and this is what often makes them notice or disregard your site. Meta tags can also be used to list down the keywords in your page, and so that your site will be found more easily.

Other Ways to Increase Traffic

Directory submission to major web directories can help drive traffic to your website, so do not forget to submit your URL to those directories. This will improve your link popularity and you could get traffic straight from the directories. You may also help your site to be listed in major search engines. You can also give out your URL when leaving meaningful comments in complementary blogs, forums, discussion groups, and etc. Readers who will find your comment worthwhile may click on the link that you provided, thus adding traffic for your site.

Use your charm to convince people on the same niche to link their site to you. It lets you get a share of their website traffic. Let’s say for example your internet marketing business deals on beach resorts, you may collaborate with travel companies to have them place a link for you. You may complement the link they give by also linking to them. Your rank in search engines increases as more and more people click on your website.

Go for affiliate marketing. This is the best way to get free links and ads for your site that is free of charge and at no risk at all. It also helps to utilize offline marketing, and inform people about your site thru word of mouth. Have your URL placed in your business cards and letter heads.

Help! I need a Good Domain Name for my Website

July 25th, 2009

The preliminary step to start up a website is the choice of a domain name.  Whether you are a butcher, baker, or candlestick maker, or if you want to start up a website to advertise your garage band, the entire endeavor begins with the selection of a domain name.

The next logical question you might ask- “What determines the best choice of domain name?”.  There are various factors to take into consideration.  For example, if you are someone who wants to build a website devoted to your cat, then the answer is that the choice of a domain name really doesn’t matter.  What’s the difference?  Most likely in that circumstance you’re not looking for lots of traffic, you’re really only targeting friends and family, to let them know about the latest goings on.  You could pick something really obscure, something unique to you and your family, from the sublime to the ridiculous, and it won’t matter because you are not necessarily looking for great amounts of traffic to your site.

The point is that in a case like this, there is no real concern with getting a lot of visitors to the website other than friends and family and coworkers, so there is no real harm in naming the website ANYTHING, because you will be giving out the website address to a select few people.  BUT……

What if you want as much traffic to your website as possible?  What if you are looking for business on the internet?

It really can bring huge dividends to have a domain name that reflects your company name and website.  Put some thought into how people search.  For example, if your company sells insurance or doughnuts or bowling pins or toilet bowls, find a way to incorporate WHAT YOU DO in the website domain name.  So be sure and choose carefully when deciding on a domain name.  Best case scenario is to get the name of your business as a dot com or dot net, etc.  In lieu of that, at least try to get the category of business that you are in incorporated in your domain name.  For example, a jewelry website should have a domain name like jewelry.com or jensjewelry.com, something that immediately associates the domain name with the theme of the site.  It’s all about branding, and making a lasting impression on the target audience or customers.

You can find domain names by checking the WhoIs database on the internet.  I have conveniently placed a domain name search engine on StartYourWebsiteToday.com for this very purpose.  After searching for the domain name, you will instantly know whether or not the domain name is available, and if so, give you the option to immediately register it.  If it’s not available, several alternative domain names will be proposed, to help you fine tune your search, or possibly giving you an acceptable alternative domain name to register instead.
